Felis bengalensis (Leopard Cat)
Description: The ears are rounded.
Coat: Base colour ochre-yellow to ochre-brown with a white spot between the eyes which are yellow-brown to greenish-yellow. The ears are black with a white spot on the back.
On the head and the nape of the neck there are 4-5 black stripes running lengthwise, which break up into 2-4 irregular rows of dark markings on the back. There are two conspicuous white and black markings above and in front of the eyes. Individuals vary with their geographical possition.

Size: Head and body length 35-60cm, tail length 15-40cm.
Weight: 2-3 kg.
Senses: Climbs and swims very well. They can climb out onto quite fragile branches without worry.
Habitat:Forest, woodland and scrubland especially near water. They live at altitudes of up to 3040 m.
Range:
Distribution: Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Japan, Philippines and Taiwan.

Daily Rhythm: Crepuscular and nocturnal.

Prey: Rodents, small mammals (hares, bats and young deer) and birds.
Food and Feeding: They often climb into trees and watch prey moving below them, when the timing is right they drop onto their prey.
