Felis bieti (Chinese Desert Cat)


Description: The skull is broad and the ears large. The soles of its feet are padded with fur. Coat: Brownish-yellow with dark spots merging into stripes, the underside is paler. The back is red tinged and the tail is ringed.
Size: Head and body length 70-85cm, tail length 30-35cm.
Weight: About 5.5kg.

Habitat: Steppe and mountain.
Range:
Distribution: C Asia, W China and S Mongolia.
Status: Possibly endangered, listed Data Deficient by IUCN.
Daily Rhythm:
Voice: Cannot roar, hisses and growls to diter enemies and to display aggression. Purs and meows also.
